The Talent Days are back
7 & 8 December, on the campus of Nyenrode Business Universiteit
Now students that graduated or expect to graduate from a VWO, HAVO or IB school will have another opportunity to discover what business talents they have and if their motivations and ambitions fit the BBA New Business Bachelor Programme. On 7 and 8 December, New Business School Amsterdam will host another Talent Days competition.
Following the steps of previous editions, participants of the Talent days will be grouped in teams and take part in a series of challenging activities that will allow each individual the chance to showcase his/her entrepreneurial potential and meet other high-potential aspiring entrepreneurs. These activities will be composed of a business game, an elevator pitch contest, a teambuilding exercise – in which participants will learn how to play rugby – and an entrepreneurial test. In addition to this, all participants will have a feedback session with professionals and will receive a report based on individual accomplishments, as well as on group activities, stating their strengths and weaknesses.
Final round and scholarships
Although these activities combined may seem pretty intense, they are not everything: on top of all that, a few number of participants will be selected to proceed to a next and final round. The selection of these participants will be based on the overall performance of each individual during the 2-days programme at the campus of Nyenrode Business Universiteit.
The chosen participants will be allowed to continue in the final round, in which the competition heats up and the players will have to prove that more than business talent they have motivation and ambition enough to win one of the scholarships – the scholarships combined can total an amount of €65,000. The final round of the Talent Days will happen on 13 January 2012, at New Business School, located at Weteringschans 165 – Amsterdam.
How to participate?
In order to take part in the Talent Days, participants can sign up themselves on www.newbusinessschool.nl/contact.asp and pay a fee of €150, which covers meals, drinks and an overnight stay in one of the dorms at Nyenrode campus. Nyenrode is the only private university in the Netherlands. In 1946, captains of industry from leading Dutch corporations as KLM, Shell, Unilever, Philips and Akzo, took the initiative to start an institute where an action-inclined, internationally focused generation of new business leaders would be educated. Nyenrode’s ambition is to deepen the knowledge of our internationally oriented, carefully selected students towards sustainable leaders, robust accountants and agile and creative entrepreneurs. For business, by business has been our motto from the day our institute was established. It still defines the university and assures that practical relevance is of main importance to our faculty.
New Business School, Amsterdam (part of Nyenrode Business Universiteit) opened in 2006, in cooperation with the University of Westminster, and offers an international Bachelor degree in New Business. Both academic development and professional development are central to the programme: it represents the third path in higher education in the Netherlands that allows students to develop themselves into creative and responsible business men and women. Projects in India, Ethiopia and China and a semester in London contribute to the student’s international ambitions.
