2nd Talent Days at the Nyenrode Business Universiteit, on 6 & 7 July

Scholarships for July went up to € 65,000

Trying to help students to decide what their next step will be after finishing VWO, HAVO or IB, the New Business School ,Amsterdam created the Talent Days. A 2-days programme where students will discover what business talents they have and if their motivations and ambitions fit the BBA New Business Bachelor Programme and the Master Business Degree Msc in Management.

Yes, they’ve got business talent!
Over a two-day period beginning on June 8, the inaugural edition of the New Business School Talent Days was held on the campus of Nyenrode University. Nineteen candidates, divided into six competing teams, participated in a series of challenging activities that allowed each individual the opportunity to showcase his/her entrepreneurial potential and meet other high-potential aspiring entrepreneurs.

Exercises included: an online business game, an elevator pitch contest, a lively series of debates, an entrepreneurial success traits assessment, a “meet and greet session” at the famous Nyenrode Zolderbar, personal feedback sessions from peers and professionals, and a teambuilding exercise by learning how to play rugby.

Too much for two days?
Not according to the enthusiastic individuals who participated in the activities. Quotes like: “I learned more in these two days than in 18 months during my study at the University”; “I am totally empty, the Talent Days were great”; and “It was super to meet other people who were just as motivated and ambitious me”.

We asked them: Have you got business talent and their answer was clear. YES!

The positive feedback, energy and attitude of the participants have encouraged us to organize a second edition of the New Business School Talent Days on July 6 & 7 at Nyenrode University.

In the end of the programme, students will receive their ‘entrepreneurial profile’; a report based on individual accomplishments as well as on group activities stating their strengths and weaknesses. Another positive aspect of the Talent days is that students with best overall performances during the two days, will have a chance to win a scholarship provided by Nyenrode Stichting Fonds. The scholarships combined will total €65,000. By organising Talent Days, New Business School also wants to stimulate and reinforce the spirit of responsible business – besides entrepreneurship and creativity one of its core values.

Students interested in taking part in the Talent Days can sign up themselves on www.newbusinessschool.nl and pay a fee of €150, which covers meals, drinks and one overnight stay. For further information students can email to info@newbusinessschool.nl or contact us on the phone number +31 20 427 42 86.

Nyenrode is the only private university in the Netherlands. In 1946, captains of industry from leading Dutch corporations as KLM, Shell, Unilever, Philips and Akzo, took the initiative to start an institute where an action-inclined, internationally focused generation of new business leaders would be educated. Nyenrode’s ambition is to deepen the knowledge of our internationally oriented, carefully selected students towards sustainable leaders, robust accountants and agile and creative entrepreneurs. For business, by business has been our motto from the day our institute was established. It still defines the university and assures that practical relevance is of main importance to our faculty.

New Business School, Amsterdam (part of Nyenrode Business Universiteit) opened in 2006, in cooperation with the University of Westminster, and offers an international Bachelor degree in New Business. Both academic development and professional development are central to the programme: it represents the third path in higher education in the Netherlands that allows students to develop themselves into creative and responsible business men and women. Projects in India, Ethiopia and China and a semester in London contribute to the student’s international ambitions.
